American Kempo Karate Association 
Welcome! The American Kempo Karate Association is the sole governing body of the system of martial arts known as Shorinji Toraken Ryu Sogo Kempo Jutsu. This system is a modern, semi-traditional system that is an amalgamation of Kempo, Jujutsu, Karate and Weapons.
In 1980, Dr. Ronald Cherry formed the American Kempo Karate Association to govern and promote the Shorinji Toraken Ryu system of martial arts. Whether it be to host seminars, secure food and lodging for training retreats, maintain virtual education capabilities, or provide means of travel for instructors to fulfill the training needs of distant students, it is the American Kempo Karate Association that makes it possible. All students who train in the Shorinji Toraken Ryu arts must first join the association.
